OAKLAND — Prosecutors in Alameda County have filed murder and attempted murder charges against a man in connection with a shooting that killed a 19-year-old and injured his friend, court records show.
Dante Curley, of Oakland, was charged last month with murdering Quinton Williams III and attempting to murder two other people who were driving in the same car when they were attacked. Williams’ friend, also 19, was struck in the neck and survived.
A GoFundMe page for Williams’ funeral describes him as “a smart and intelligent young man, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.85 GPA from 9th-12 grade.” Police have not said whether he is believed to be the intended target of the shooting.
