A 1950s party Saturday at Grand Vista Assisted Living in Coldwater included a classic car cruise-in.
Oldies music played in the background. Staff members wore poodle skirts as they served hot dogs. Residents took a trip down memory lane — fond memories prompted by the antique vehicles.
The threat of inclement weather kept some classic-car owners at home, but the 15 who participated offered enough variety so residents could vote for their favorites.
Marvin Lindsey liked the silver Ford pickup owned by Todd Lampson of Hudson.
“I had one in 1957,” Lindsey said.
When Lindsey went over to check it out with the help of Tasha Hall, a Grand Vista staff member, he got an invitation.
“Would you like to get in it?” Lampson said.
Lindsey’s smile said it all.
